Why do we call it SoHip?

There’s a certain energy you feel when a neighborhood begins to develop an identity of its own.

The name SoHip is a subtle nod to SoHo, New York — not because the two neighborhoods look alike, but because of what SoHo has always represented: an unexpected mix of architecture, design, culture, restaurants, style and residential life all occupying the same few blocks.

SoHip has its own distinctly Dallas version of that energy.

Tucked between some of the city’s most established neighborhoods, it’s a pocket where older Dallas meets what’s next. Contemporary homes are appearing alongside established streets, new development is changing the landscape, and great dining, shopping, design and culture are never far away.

It feels polished, but still a little undiscovered. And that may be the most interesting part.
